Vision Services specializes in digital photography for the gem and
jewelry industry. Because of our many years of experience, we understand
the specialized nature of shooting jewelry, proper layout, and the
most desirable appearance of gems.
We offer:
* Low-cost, high quality digital photography of jewelry and small
objects, delivered to you over the Internet or on CD, in the formats
you require.
* Quick turn-around. Your pieces are returned fast! We can even provide
same-day service. This is especially useful for manufacturers of one-of-a-kind
pieces who want to obtain high quality images before a product is
shipped to a customer.
* Specialized catalogs for the Internet or CD. We can use our images
or yours. All our catalogs are customized for your needs, including
refined searches by product, price, components, etc. Here
is how we work:
A. Your product needs to be delivered to our offices in New York.
You are responsible for the costs of delivering and returning the
merchandise. Timing for shipping of goods to us needs to be arranged
in advance.
B. We maintain sufficient insurance, with Lloyd's, for most clients,
especially since we schedule shooting and return merchandise quickly.
If you have high value merchandise, our insurance limits can be
increased to cover your merchandise (the cost to be charged to you),
or, as many clients choose, you can add the additional coverage
under your policy.
C. Your merchandise should be delivered with a memo indicating the
value of all pieces.
D. Indicate to us any special requirements in advance. We generally
shoot single products, but we can combine multiple shots into a
single image as needed.
E. We return merchandise as soon as shooting is completed. Finished
images are delivered at a later date. Return of merchandise and
image delivery dates are dependent on quantity. We will give you
estimated dates at the time an order is placed.
F. You can request that a few images be adjusted (as described below),
and sent to you by e-mail for previewing.
G. Images are delivered on CD or over the web, depending on the
requirements. Images are cleaned, brightened, sharpened and adjusted
as required. Images are delivered on white backgrounds with most
or all shadows removed. These standard adjustments are included
in the price. We can do a wide variety of addition post-production
work (special backgrounds, drop-shadows, color changes, etc) which
we will quote on request.
H. Images are delivered in the formats requested. Most typically
we deliver TIFF and JPEG formats. If you are unsure about the formats
you need, we can assist you determine the formats appropriate to
your purposes.
I. DVS can produce specialized catalogs for your images. Ask us
about our web-based or CD-based products!
